Bringing polarizing truth to the church

Uncover
our story

AG Anonymous started when survivors of sexual, physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual abuse in Assemblies of God churches banned together to make a difference to ensure the next generation never experiences what they did.

Through our website you will find; our personal stories, links to podcast episodes on stories about the Assemblies of God, and links to news articles on breaking stories throughout the nation.

We desire to bring true change and accountability to the Assemblies of God denomination and the church at large.

COMING SOON: A form letter for those wanting to report Spiritual Abuse to their District or National leadership.

If you have experienced spiritual abuse and are afraid to report it, please reach out to us, we would love to support you.

Share your story

Your story deserves to be heard! Your story matters. What happened to you shouldn’t have happened!

One of the most important pieces of this website for us as an advocacy group is that we give the people back their voice that was stolen from them in church.

While we welcome stories of any church hurts, we only post those regarding the Assemblies of God.

These submissions can be ANONYMOUS, please just place N/A in the names area if you’d like to stay anonymous.

Is the AG starting to make positive changes? Will they follow through on their new policy?

The Assemblies of God put out a position paper on spiritual abuse this past week (week of October 15 2025) and it has us curious…..will they actually follow through? You can find their position paper on spiritual abuse below.

AG POSITION PAPER ON SPIRITUAL ABUSE

If you would like to see the AG’s new policy on spiritual abuse and how they plan to discipline it within the fellowship you can find that at the bottom of our resources page.

Our Letter to the Assemblies of God National Office

Dear Assemblies of God Leadership,

We are writing on behalf of survivors and advocates who have been deeply affected by the ministry and influence of Jeanne Mayo. For over five decades, she has been publicly celebrated and promoted by the Assemblies of God. However, numerous testimonies and documented accounts indicate a long pattern of misconduct, abuse of power, and leadership failures that demand urgent acknowledgment and action.

(This letter did include a timeline of Jeanne Mayo’s alleged abuse at this point, but we have not included it online. If you would like to see that please reach out to us, aganonymous.stroies@gmail.com

With hundreds of known victims of Jeanne Mayo’s leadership as well as other leaders she mentored we are requesting the following items;

  1. Public Statement & Apology: Because Jeanne was so publicly promoted and celebrated in the Assemblies of God at a National Level, we feel it is appropriate that the National Office make a public statement on Jeanne Mayo’s dismissal from the Assemblies of God as well as an apology for ignoring the warnings and confessions of abuse since 2020. We would also like this statement to include all disciplinary actions that have been taken against her or leaders she mentored.

  2. Prevention Measures: We would like a detailed explanation of what the Assemblies of God is doing to actively prevent spiritual, emotional, psychological, physical, and sexual abuse within the fellowship.

  3. Future Discipline Plan and Response: We would like a detailed plan Updated Discipline Plan. A copy or explanation of the Assemblies of God’s updated discipline plan for leaders found guilty of spiritual, emotional, psychological, or sexual abuse. As well as clarification on how discipline will be applied consistently and publicly, rather than handled internally without accountability.

  4. Ombudsman Request: Create district roles of an Ombudsman where pastors and leaders can safely and confidently report all types of abuse within the fellowship.

We urge the Assemblies of God to take immediate, public, and transparent steps to address these matters. Survivors, church members, and the broader faith community deserve clarity, accountability, and assurance that such abuses will not be tolerated in the future.

Thank you,

Melissa Holcombe
